Dazzling visitors at Cannes Film Festival
With the company’s all conquering KZ1 supercar all set to star in the big budget remake of the 70’s crime caper, the Persuaders, the team from Ascari made the journey from their Banbury HQ to the southern shores of France to dazzle visitors to this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
There to meet long standing business partners, Brass Hat Productions, as well as Ashok Amritraj, the producer of choice for the Persuaders movie, Ascari’s Chris Burton sees the movie tie-in as the perfect opportunity to introduce the 500bhp Ascari to a global audience. "For a low volume supercar manufacturer such as Ascari to compete with more established rivals, the opportunity to star in a big budget Hollywood blockbuster offers a huge boost to the company’s profile. If the KZ1 looks as good on the big screen as it does in the flesh then cinema goers are in for a treat."
Once the festival has come to a close, Ashok, a highly regarded film producer based in L.A, will be visiting the UK for a tour of the company’s state of the art Banbury and to put the KZ1 through its paces on home soil. With a 200mph top speed and the looks of a Hollywood A-lister, he’s not going to be disappointed.
Ben Stiller, Steve Coogan, Hugh Grant and George Clooney are just some of the names tipped to fill the legendry shoes of Tony Curtis and Roger Moore – the stars of the original TV series. Playing two millionaire playboys in the fight against crime, the new on screen heroes will follow on from where Curtis and Moore left off, with stylish clothes, exotic locations, beautiful girls and of course fast cars the order of the day. Filming is expected to start early 2007, with the film premier penciled in for the summer.
