Ferrari FF gets a ride in a Chinook helicopter【Video】

The new V12 Ferrari for the first time on the road, After the great feedback generated by the FF at the Geneva car show.

With its latest supercar, Ferrari has introduced a controversial ‘shooting brake’ hatchback bodystyle, a fully redesigned 651 horsepower and 504 pound-feet of torque 6.3-liter V-12 with direct injection technology and seven-speed ‘F1’ dual clutch transmission, and of course an advanced four-wheel drive system, a first for Ferrari.

With just a few days to go until the press is given access to the shooting brake concept, two of the four-wheel drive models have been air lifted to the top of Plan De Corones in the Dolomites. At 2,350 meters (7,710 feet) above sea level, a special ice and snow track has been constructed where journalists will test the cars under slippery conditions.

Maranello, 10 March 2011 - Only a couple of days to go for the start of the FF tests by the press, where journalists from all over the world will drive the new V12 Ferrari for the first time on the roads of the Alto-Adige region: two Ferrari four-seaters with four-wheel drive have been taken to the top of Plan De Corones in the Dolomites at 2,350 metres, where a special ice and snow track has been prepared for the cars, located at the start of the vast ski area, where the journalists will test the cars under fierce conditions.

The cars have been taken to this area, which can only be reached by the ski-lifts, with a CH-47 Chinook transport helicopter from Viterbo's 1st Regiment Antares and the help of three Agusta 205 helicopters from the 4th Regiment Altair from the Italian air force in Bolzano. The cars were loaded into the transport helicopters and flown around the Dolomites, before they were carefully unloaded. In this much-anticipated event, with headquarters in Brunico, almost 200 journalists from the world's most important publications will participate over the next four weeks. After the great feedback generated by the FF at the Geneva car show now this revolutionary 12-cylinder from Ferrari is finally debuting on the road.

Novitec Ferrari 458 Italia【Video】

Novitec Rosso announced that it will greet Geneva Auto Show visitors with a Ferrari 458 Italia modification program. The Italian tuner offers a complex development that targets the tech, exterior and interior areas of the supercar.

The Novitec Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by the standard 4.5- liter V8 engine that outputs 39 hp / 28.7 kW more than the factory version. To tget the extra 40 hp, the Novitec Ferrari 458 Italia is fitted with a carbon-fiber airbox and modified air routing, a high-performance exhaust system and spor catalysts. Of course, a re-mapped ECU is also used. The final output of the Novitec Ferrari 458 Italia is rated at 609 hp / 448 kW at 9,100 rpm and 569 Nm of torque at 5,400 rpm.

For a top speed in excess of 330 km/h (205 mph) Novitec Rosso fine-tuned the body components using the wind tunnel at the University of Stuttgart. Made of carbon fiber the aerodynamic-enhanced kit consists of a lower spoiler, right/left wing flaps and ventilation louvers attached to the original bumper fascia. Also in carbon fiber are the fenders, side skirts, carbon-fiber mirror housings, rear spoiler and diffuser. And last but not least the roof panel and engine hood are also made from carbon fiber.

Custom-tailored versions of the three-piece Novitec Rosso NF3 wheels were developed for the 458 Italia. Novitec Rosso chose a staggered combination of size 9Jx21 wheels in front and size 12Jx22 on the rear. Custom-manufactured Pirelli PZero tires are mounted in size 255/30 ZR 21 and 335/25 ZR 22 front to rear, respectively.

Other changes made to the vehicle include a new lowering springs that drop the car about 35mm, plus a hydraulic lift system that raise the front of the car by 40 mm which is extremely helpful over those pesky speed bumps.

Press Release

World Debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2011:
NOVITEC ROSSO Refines the Ferrari 458 Italia
609 hp / 448 kW, more than 330 km/h and a Sporty Designer Suit

NOVITEC ROSSO now also refines the new Ferrari 458

Italia. At the Geneva Motor Show 2011 the extensive program for the mid-engine sports car will celebrate its world debut. The high-performance program includes engine tuning that increases power output to 609 hp / 448 kW, propelling the two-seater car to a top speed in excess of 330 km/h. The NOVITEC ROSSO high-performance exhaust system, made from the same INCONEL material also used in Formula 1 racing, optimizes both power yield and exhaust note while weighing in at 21 kilograms less than the production exhaust. The NOVITEC ROSSO aerodynamic-enhancement kit was developed in the wind tunnel and is manufactured from carbon fibers. It also contributes to the lightweight-design concept of the NOVITEC ROSSO conversion. A custom-tailored tire/wheel combination with diameters of 21 and 22 inches, a modified suspension with front lift system and exclusive interior options round out the upgrade for the Italian sports car.

The NOVITEC ROSSO specialists unleash an additional 39 hp / 28.7 kW of power from the 4.5-liter V8. A new carbon-fiber airbox with modified air routing is installed on the intake side. The NOVITEC
ROSSO high-performance exhaust system was developed to improve exhaust-gas flow. The exhaust system consists of two high-performance manifolds, sport catalysts and a rear muffler with a control flap, whose sound can be adjusted by the Manettino button on the steering wheel.

The exhaust system features three tailpipes with a diameter of 90 millimeters and optimizes power yield while producing a more sporty exhaust note. But that's not all: It is manufactured from INCONEL,
the same material used on Formula 1 race cars, making the NOVITEC ROSSO exhaust especially heat resistant and more importantly extremely light: Compared to the production exhaust it represents a
weight saving of 21 kilograms.

The engine conversion also includes newly programmed engine electronics with newly calibrated mapping for ignition and injection.

After the conversion the engine of the 458 Italia produces 609 hp / 448 kW at 9,100 rpm. Simultaneously peak torque grows from 540 Nm to 569 Nm at 5,400 rpm. The engine also responds even faster to throttle commands and the slightly higher redline speed results in even better continuity during upshifts.

Powered by this engine the two-seater with NOVITEC ROSSO engine tuning reaches a top speed in excess of 330 km/h.

At these speeds favorable aerodynamic properties are essential. The NOVITEC ROSSO body components were fine-tuned in the wind tunnel of the University of Stuttgart. The components are made from especially light high-strength carbon fibers and give the car an unabashed racing look while reducing its weight.

The NOVITEC ROSSO front spoiler is attached to the production bumper and lends the car a more striking face. In combination with the flaps to the right and left of the central air inlet its sophisticated
shape minimizes lift on the front axle, which benefits directional stability at high speeds. Wings and the fender-mounted ventilation louvers now made from carbon fibers add further sporty emphasis to
the front of the car. Carbon-fiber mirror housings add the final touch.

Strikingly styled NOVITEC ROSSO rocker panels create optimal airflow between front and rear wheel wells.

To reduce lift on the rear axle for an optimal aerodynamic balance NOVITEC ROSSO upgrades the 458 Italia with a rear spoiler and a carbon-fiber diffuser. The racing look is rounded out with additional
carbon-fiber applications such as ventilation louvers or the fog lamp surround.

Custom-tailored versions of the three-piece NOVITEC ROSSO NF3 wheel were developed to make perfect use of the available space in the wheel wells. Choosing a staggered combination of size 9Jx21 wheels in front and size 12Jx22 on the rear axle further emphasizes the wedge shape of the two-seater car. Technology partner Pirelli supplies PZero high-performance tires custom-tailored for this car. On the front axle the tires are mounted in size 255/30 ZR 21. In the rear tires in size 335/25 ZR 22 provide optimal traction.

The NOVITEC ROSSO sport springs are precision-matched to these ultra-low-profile tires. The springs lower the ride height of the Ferrari by some 35 millimeters. At the same time the NOVITEC ROSSO
specialists also developed a particular feature that further improves the everyday utility of the 458 Italia.

The hydraulic NOVITEC ROSSO front lift system can raise the front of the car at the push of a button in the cockpit by some 40 millimeters, eliminating problems posed by speed bumps or parking
garage ramps. At a second push of the button or automatically upon reaching a speed of 80 km/h the front reverts to its original position.

NOVITEC ROSSO fully caters to customer requests with perfectly crafted leather and Alcantara interiors. Customers can choose from an endless number of colors and a multitude of upholstery designs
meticulously sewn to perfection. The racing theme of the NOVITEC ROSSO body kit is continued in the interior with a center console, scuff plates and longer shift paddles on the steering wheel, all made
from carbon fibers.

Ferrari F430 Scuderia turnеd into rolling canvas by artist Laurence Gartel【Video】

Famous artist Laurence Gartel has jumped into the art car game - again - by creating this one-off Ferrari F430 Scuderia.

The Ferrari 430 Scuderia is a lightweight, simple, limited-edition supercar that is one of the fastest Ferraris ever created and is known to be a piece of art on its own by car enthusiasts throughout the world. Seven-times World Champion Race Car Driver Michael Schumacher was involved in the Scuderia’s development which resulted in becoming a part of Ferrari history. The Scud is known to be priceless and still trades above its base sticker price since the demand exceeds supply and everyone wants to own the best of the best. Laurence Gartel now has created a one of a kind Ferrari 430 Scuderia that will be impossible for even for Ferrari to commission a clone.

According to the artist’s representatives, this particular F430 Scuderia’s value has jumped all the way to a cool $1 million because of Gartel’s work.

ARTIST GARTEL TRANSLATES A FERRARI SCUDERIA into a CANVAS.

Prior to the personal computer Laurence GARTEL broke all established methodologies when he explored electronic imaging known today as (Digital Media) in the early 70s while working on analog system computers. GARTEL set out to create new visual language through the adoption of technology in the art making process. GARTEL taught Andy Warhol how to use the Amiga Computer when he received the commission to produce the album cover for Debbie Harry (Blondie) in the 80s.

GARTEL's new psychedelic Scuderia (valued at close to a million dollars) becomes the latest of unique projects GARTEL's interest in SUPER CARS started several years ago and his exhibition "AUTO MOTION" based on the inspiration of the FERRARI automobile was first showcased at the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Edison State College in Ft. Myers, Florida. But the question asked is: "WHY paint a FERRARI? The answer is: "WHY NOT?" - Digitally of course.

Ever since the first cave paintings were discovered in France (40,000 BC) man has had an intellectual surge of artistic expression. Stained glass as a medium created in the Middle Ages gave birth to a new formula of artistic process. The idea of "unique surface" is something artists have sought after over time.

Some purists would say, "A Ferrari needs to be left well enough alone." That may be true, but when a collector has more than 10 of them, you can begin to see the options," states GARTEL. "Artistic and cultural minds change our thought process," declares GARTEL. Imagine if there was no Frank Gehry? Architecture would be dull in our contemporary environment. "So I tip my hat to Enzo Ferrari for having real vision in the automotive world. – It is about to evolve into a prophetic significance."

"A master artist is one that does not accept society's rules." "We have seen break out artists such as Dali in surrealism and Warhol in pop culture. GARTEL brought us the Digital Art Movement almost single-handedly," states the CEO of ArtFellas LLC , the initiator and main sponsor of the "Ferrari 430 Scuderia into a Canvas" project. "The internet, comes first," it is the Media and the Medium. You will be able to watch this event online on http://artfellas.tv in live streaming which is the new dedicated section of Artfellas.com - The Art Social Network. If Marshall McLuhan's statement "The medium is the message" were ever true, GARTEL's art speaks volumes. "That is why his art is going live on our page. We will witness GARTEL's creation of the Scuderia literally unfolding on our pages. In the meantime, people should look out for GARTEL's ART SCUDERIA surprising onlookers on the streets of Miami. - Tune in Below! - )

1949 Ferrari 166 MM Touring Barchetta

The RM Auctions’ event in Arizona on January 20th-21st is already featuring an impressive line up of rare and exotic vehicles, including a 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Dayton Spyder previously owned by Mr. October himself, Reggie Jackson.

On offer this season is the rare race-bred 1949 Ferrari 166 MM Touring Barchetta. Commissioned for the 1949 Paris Motor Show, the 166 MM is considered to be one of the rarest and most historic Ferrari, having been owned and raced by many notable individuals in the Ferrari world, including Aprile Palmer in 1951.

Under the hood, power is provided by a 2.0-liter V12 engine with an estimated 140 hp (104 kW / 142 PS). It is connected to a five-speed manual transmission, which enables the roadster to accelerate from 0-100 mph in approximately 27 seconds.

Chassis number 0024 M – the 10th of only 25 examples made – was originally displayed at the 1949 Paris Motor Show in Argentina's official racing colors, yellow and blue, before being sent off to South America to win the 1950 Mar del Plata. True to its name, it was also campaigned in the 1951 Mille Miglia rally, and has since undergone a thorough restoration – including the red paint job you see here.

The beautiful racer, expected to fetch between $1.9 million – $2.4 million, is one of 11 Ferraris slated to cross the auction block during the marquee event, including Reggie Jackson’s 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spyder that we told you about last month. Originally commissioned for the 1949 Paris Motor Show, the 166 MM on offer is considered one of the rarest and most historic early Ferraris, having been owned and raced by many notable individuals in the Ferrari world.

Press Release

Maranello, 24th September 2010 – Ferrari is delighted to announce the presentation of the SA APERTA at the Paris International Motor Show 2010. This is a special series model of which a strictly limited number of just 80 will be built. All have already been sold. Ferrari chose to build 80 SA APERTAs in celebration of Pininfarina's 80th anniversary. The SA nomenclature also pays homage to both Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina whose company and work have been linked to the most successful road-going cars ever built at Maranello.

The SA APERTA is a true roadster which allows its occupants to enjoy the superlative emotions afforded by our signature front-engined V12 architecture in a completely open-top setting. In fact, it has just a light soft top designed to be resorted to only if the weather gets particularly bad. A low-slung windscreen and the fact that it crouches lower to the ground than our other models lend the SA APERTA an exceptionally aerodynamic sleekness. Its profile arches back from the A-post to two aerodynamic fins beautifully integrating the two roll-barswhich themselves cleverly mimic the outline of the seats.

The chassis has been redesigned to deliver a standard of stiffness comparable to that of a closed berlinetta and there is a negligible weight difference also, thanks to work done on the chassis structure.

Thanksto the 670 CV engine beneath its bonnet, the SA APERTA beautifully embodies the sporty spirit of the 599, incorporating Ferrari's most advanced technology to deliver absolutely benchmark performance and superb driving pleasure. Its interior too is stylishly sporty with particularly sophisticated materials, trim and colours used throughout.
