The essence of racing
Fashion in pole position: on January 16th, 2006, the latest fashion collection of the new BMW Sauber F1 Team celebrated its premiere. During the evening, before the vehicle presentation, a racy show was staged to showcase sporty fashion, top-quality leisure-wear and numerous accessories.
Location:
The futuristic-looking venue of the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (CAC) in Valencia was the perfect setting for the launch of the new BMW Sauber F1 Team Collection 2006 and for the showcase of the new BMW Sauber F1 Team racing car on January 17th, 2006.
International model elite:
The world premiere also called on the services of international, top-class models, including Alessandra Ambrosio from Brazil and the German top model Christina Kruse. They presented the new look, which features the characteristic colours of the new BMW Sauber F1 team: white, blue and red.
Star photographer:
Michel Comte, the internationally-renowned celebrity photographer, who will accompany the new BMW Sauber F1 team throughout the upcoming year, has photographed the new BMW Sauber F1 Team Collection during the show. He was clearly inspired by what he saw: “BMW and fashion are the perfect combination. Both convey aesthetics as well as dynamism”, he said after the fashion show shoot.
Guests at the fashion show:
It wasn’t just the fashion that was sporty – the guests were too. Motorsport Director Dr. Mario Theissen, Hans-Joachim Stuck, Nick Heidfeld, and Jacques Villeneuve were among the audience sitting by the catwalk. The two Formula 1 team pilots, Nick Heidfeld and Jacques Villeneuve showcased parts of their own driver’s collections and spoke with the presenter Jonathan Legard on stage.
Party sounds:
The sound of the band “Living Music Family” brought guests onto the dance floor until the early morning hours.
Catering:
The guest’s palates were delighted by exquisite Spanish tapas, provided by the Andalusian catering firm El Alto.
